I am honored to have been asked to do a Master Class for teachers on the topic of Art and Activism at this years California Art Education Association conference in San Francisco.
It will be offered twice. Once on Friday and again on Saturday November 10 and 11.
The overarching concepts of this master class will be “Visual Journalism,” “Art and Activism,” and “Social Justice.” The discussion will be about how to incorporate these themes in the art classroom and how to use our skills and social media to promote Social Justice and a spirit of giving back. Related topics will be street photography and copyright. The class will create a group project as well as individual pen and pencil drawings.
